This is terrible news. I used to be part of the UDRA's safety staff and the World Series was the best race we would be involved with every year. It has taken place at Cordova for over sixty years, and Cordova is it's home. A lot of historical races, and records have been made at this race, and it's just a sad decision to move it. Here's the article from the Quad City Times from yesterday about the move.. They also talk about the financial problem this will have on the area.

That sucks, I raced at the world series a few years back, it was a neat race. seems like if Memphis wants a signature event, then do the leg work and create one. This decision will likely kill the World Series and Cordova as a race track.
