I'm looking to possibly trade in or sell, but upgrade my 2006 2500 Megacab with a Cummins. It's not a 4wd. It's just breaking in with 125k on it. Looking to upgrade by a little.

Are the deals flying with newer GM or Dodge Trucks. Still want a 2500, maybe not a diesel this time. Not going to that many shows anymore, but still need to tow my 28' enclosed. What are years of both to stay away from? Would like a longbed, so that limits what year Dodge Crewcab or GM that I can get, but not a dealbreaker. Things are starting to show their age with this truck, like rusty lines, covers. Thanks

IDK, from what I've read the last 5 year you've got one of the last cat's behind for power and mileage.

The 06 Mega is much sought after, don't know why you want to, ahem cough cough upgrade? shruggy I have a 2015 2500 Ram regular cab longbox 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi and it tows my 32' LQ trailer just fine with the same mileage my 04 Cummins made, around 9 MPG. The trailer weighs 11,200 lbs fully loaded and I had no issues with 4 tows last year. wave

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

John, yup...Going to keep it.. The A?C pump that I just installed(New NAPA) unit in September had it's bearing going bad, burning it up. Sucks..Chanaged it out with a warranty unit in a snow storm, but in a garage... Took it for s and giggles to a Dodge dealership against a 2015 6.4 Tradesman Club Cab.. Besides the 4wd, gained nothing. They went to 20k for my truck, but thank goodness, we were still too far.. Now I'll just start re-doing this.. Needs a converter. Had the trans bands tightened??, but still slips 1 to 2nd. Just did new batteries, new Cooper HT3's, 4 new rotors, new A/C!!

I have an 08 H.Q.C. ( 45,000 miles) about two months ago it was at a friends shop getting the trans serviced while it was there I told him to change the engine oil they put the new filter on but forgot to put oil back in resulting in them blowing my Hemi as they moved it out of the shop. Well I got a new reman Hemi in it now with a 3 year warranty, I don`t use the truck much only to tow and in the snow on occasion. I got worried and was pricing out a new Hemi 2500 , 4.10 gears, auto load leveling etc. even an SLT model was listed for over $45,000 ouch! I keep getting mail and phone calls from Dodge dealers about how they want my truck, I was tempted but my truck looks great, tows great and is in good shape plus its paid for. I am just going to keep it.
