Hi all,
I would appreciate any assistance from the sixpack experts. Motor is 440. Eddy heads. Bullet solid lifter cam--244@.050. 541 lift. I suspect that my outboard carbs are not flowing fuel when the secondaries open. Motor starts detonating when the seocondaries kick in. A/F goes to 19:1. Float levels have been verified. Ive jetted up to 91, no change. Been chasing this problem for months. Throttle bores are dry with no hint of fuel residue. Quick fuel metering plates are installed on all three carbs. Ive been running the sixpack for a couple years. Center carb is dialed in perfectly. Motor runs hard up to 4800. 13.5 A/f. No problems until the secondaries kick in. Thanks in advance

Any fuel in the bowls? You didn't mention that.

Yep. Fuel in the bowls. I double checked the float levels and plenty comes out when I empty the bowls to change the jetting. It's also running about 10 deg hotter at 200 from 190 which i experienced in the past with an RPM intake that had vacume leaks. Sixpack intake is sealed good which is why I thought of the vacume pods

Take them back apart, clean with carb clean, spray out all the orifices and try again. You might have to strap on the chassis dyno to see what's going on,,,,,,,,,,,

HEMI-ITIS has no cure.
My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Are these carbs brand new or used ? I would defenetly do like hemi-itis surgest and check with air blowing thru the chanels that feeds the boosters in the carb body whitout jetplates on carb body and then see if the holes line up in jetplates to the carb body. My gues is that someting is wong whit the jetplates. You should be fine whit around 80to83 jets in outer carbs but it sounds like your outer carb kick in late becaus my experience i that they tend to kick in around 3000-3500rpm and even if you dont floor the pedal it should. Ive gone over to mecanikal carbs after many years of vacume outer carbs and that whas a great change for me.

Gentlemen et all,

Many thanks for the recommendations. I'll remove/inspect the jet plates and give the carbs a thorough cleaning and go from there on all actions recommended here. They are older carbs. Got them from a friend 10 years ago that he ran on his dart for many years prior.
