I am installing new ARP 3" wheel studs in my axles. My question is what size smaller does the hole need to be safely for the knurl to properly be secured?? I have Moser axles and the tech said the holes are drilled at .656 for a .665 knurl and the new studs are .680. I can get a 43/64 drill bit that will open the hole to .671. Is that going to be tight enough or could I go a little tighter?? I will measure the studs and holes in the axles to get the exact measurements before any alterations, but would like any experience on the tightness if possible. Thanks!!
416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out. 11.06 open headers----so far!!

I can get a 43/64 drill bit that will open the hole to .671 Remember, when you drill with a bit that is .671", the resulting hole will normally be slightly oversize, maybe +0.003 depending on machine and technique.

Thanks for the input, if it wasnt so cold here I could go out and knock one of the old studs out and get a measurement.Greg

Mr. Gasket makes a set with .665 knurls on them. I just went through this putting a set ij my stock Duster axles. .680's just would not go in.
