Anyone buy crate motor from Indy cylinder Head .Thinking about buying 500' stroker engine from these guys Any feedback or thoughts would be great. 500 street wedge Ez-1 heads 9.5 to 1 compression comp hydraulic cam (.509)Sw Indy dual plane intake 750 demon carb wiseco piston steel crank eagle rods. They clam this is 600 hp but i have been told that this is not a good cam that does come alive till 3,000 rmp really want a cam that lopes hard at idle power down low with out a lot of gear Any input on indys quality and service would be very helpful. Were can you find the engine guys on here ? Is there any other mopar only engine builder they would recommend that does great crate motors with this combo? Thanks a ton

Yeah I gave you what you wanted and have felt the pain ever since. When does it stop hurting?

i bought a 470 kit & block and a set of areo heads and it worked great for me i delt with Sam i believe and his cust. service was every thing i expected just my
Yes indeed, Sam is an excellent customer service addition to Indy. He has been very "friendly" to me as well. However, when you have cracked valve guide bosses, weak spring pressure, too much valve run out at the seat and Sam's boss (Russ, or Jim) get on the telephone and tell you that "All you guys think you're building prostock motors" you'll feel my pain. I was told "all these heads have cracks" referring to the valve guide boss/spring locator. Indy refused to even let me send the heads back (on their dime) to have them check the heads themselves.
I am currently having a complete valve job and the guides replaced and moving on. But Indy will not get any more business from me.
I know this is not the place for negative experience chatter, but i do believe it is important for one to be aware of consumer problems.
I truly hope that the issues i have had are not carried over to other customers.

I for one am grateful Indy is there. They have made more performance parts for Mopars than any other company including Mopar and most of us have an indy part or two . HOWEVER, I really think they're better used as a PARTS supplier with YOUR machine shop of choice doing AlL the machine processes to ALL the parts. Those guys up their are more than capable of doing everything right, but I really don't think they're going to be very personally picky about everything that goes out the door, if for no other reason than being too busy with parts sales. Sam is very nice and they need a guy like him. The old guys are salty and I'm sure quite completely burned out with dealing with those "pesky" customers.

I went through that EXACT same scenario about two years ago and haven't dealt with them since......
I agree that they do have good parts, but their machine work and customer service is terrible though......
