not a clue, but a great looking truck. I like the shiney wheels, but the Dayton's are getting rare, I'd leave'm on.

The main reason that people change them out is because most places don't like dealing with split rim wheels when the tires need changed.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I think Accuride makes a rim that mounts on the dayton spokes and isn't the split rim design. takes modern tubed tires. Just looking at this link 10 stud was an option for 600's and 700's you would most likely need to find a donor truck though.

A previous post talked about Accuride and they are local, and have the correct hoops for tubeless tires on Dayton hubs! There is also another local company that makes simulators for Daytons! Problem solved... http://www.realwheels.com/product/simulators-19-5/

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

We are still running 2 Dodge trucks. A 66 CT800 and a 75 CNT800. Both have Dayton wheels with no issues. The 75 needed larger front tires "16.00" so 22.5 tubeless wheels were used. Otherwise both trucks have 10.00 x 20's on them. I believe if you wanted Bud type wheels. The drums and spokes are replaced with hubs and drums. This sounds easy but you would have to find the right Diameter drum that would fit your spindle bearing hub and wheel bolt pattern.... I have seen Bud wheels on Dodge trucks like yours, but they were usually lighter models like D500 D600. Do you have any School bus bone yards? They seem to have bud type wheels usually.

Dodgedon, what tires manufacturer) are the 10.00 x20 you are running? Mine are 8.25-20,the only tires I see are Chinese manufactured. ~RT We buy whatever is available. The rear drivers are bias and usually Recaps or good used. These tires don't seem to wear out on the rural gravel roads and fields. On the fronts we buy New Radials. These do wear more and are more of a safety issue. I will look at the brands but i think the most recent front set was a Kelly tire.... Its my understanding when talking to the neighbors that 7.50-20 and 8.25-20 tires are very hard to come by. They end up buying a new tire in whatever is offered and most often it's bias. I will look and see what brands we are using mostly and report back

The most recent new 10.00R-20 tires were kelly Armorsteel KGR. These are the typical ribbed front steer type tires. As for the rears both Dodges have Goodyear grip type tires. Recaps on the one and virgin on the other. The other trucks have the major brands you would expect to see... Dunlop, Bridgestone, Firestone, General, but these are 22.5 and 24.5 bud style tubeless wheels. I did see a truck today with what looked to be newer 8.25-20 tires on the front. They were Sumitomo ST727. The side wall did say "Made in Japan".
I think if diameter is a concern and you are currently running 8.25-20 or 9.00-20. You would have more options in a 22.5 tubeless wheel and a low profile Radial tire that would match what you have. But new wheels add to the cost... If your trucks are geared like ours, short tires will not help you get down the road any quicker.
