I have Mopar filters on my 08 Dakota, which has a timing chain rattle at cold start, and on my wifes 12' Charger R/T, my 6.1 Dart has a Wix and it doesnt make any more noise at start up that it does warm with 5W40 Rotella syn. At first start after an oil change the wifes car has lifter rattle.

Mopar to the bone!!!

My 2007 Ram started ticking at around 175,000 miles. I now just run 140wt gear oil instead of the 5w20.

Okay, that is not true. It does seem to tick less after an oil change though. I do still use the 5w20 as per the manual.

I don't remember the MOPAR filter number for sure... but Walmart stocks it. Make, year and model will find it.

This is the first time I have came to this area in the forum to see if anyone has had any lifter problems. My son had a 2012 Ram Express that developed a noticeable tick. Turned out it was lifter noise that resulted in a flat cam. It was repaired. We straight up told a dealer what we experienced and wished to trade for a 2014 Ram he had on the lot. My son's truck had 127,000 miles and the '14 had 30,000. After making a deal we found a repair order in the glove box where the dealer replaced the lifters on this newer truck! I'm wondering if this is common or what? I would like to choke this salesman.
