Eddie Miller invited me to a secret test session at Orlando speed world last week put on by Mickey Thompson for sponsored and invited drivers and/or race teams.






Jeff Lutz was driving this Viper he built for a customer, thing makes 1800whp on a V10 block and stock frame, it reset the viper record with a V10 running 6.78 @ 211mph in the 1/4 mile
Jeff Lutz is a cool dude and fun to hang out with, he is good friends with Eddie so we talked to him a lot this day.





This is Shroeder Ens 66 corvette chassis car with a 872 Reher Morrison big block on 4 kits of nitrous, it is also running Holley EFI with the Monte Smith tuning it. I was hanging out in thier camp as Eddie was helping them. It was awesome to finally meet Monte Smith and let me tell you he is a Smart dude and very cool to talk and hang out with. The car was having issue with the drive by wire throttle bodies but Monte is pretty sure he figured out the issue and the car will be getting fixed and hope to see it testing again soon.




This is Kevin Fiscus pro mod car, very sweet and very fast, he is a local racer too and I have known him along time from hanging around Hurricane performance. I hung out in his camp a lot this day also as two of my good friends were his pit crew also.

I only talked to the driver of this avenger briefly in the staging lanes, but he said it had a drag pack 360 in it, it was all motor and it was running very impressive times I saw it go 9.33 at @143mph
I told him I was one of those crazy guys running a magnum engine, he just chuckled and got in his car, dude was cool.

Dewayne Mills aka "the golden gorilla" was there also, his car was friggen FAST!!!!!!!!

Billy Glidden was there also, car is fast and dude is smart, his wife was his only pit crew and she worked better than a lot of guys I know.

The guy in the Avenger is Mark Nowicki. Geat guy. He's been dominating IHRA Division 2 Super Stock for the last few years. He'll probably be racing at the IHRA ProAms in Immokalee, Bradenton & SGMP this month and back at Orlando later this year.

Cool pics thanks! I love the Shroeder corvette its a favorite of mine at drag week. I have seen him have trouble with the drive by wire throttle bodies a few times. I have seen enough DBW throttle problems that I would much rather have a cable.

Wasn't really a "secret"...........you just had to know about it, and or be invited.

Mills was testing the new drag radials. Glidden was testing the new Pro-Mod tire and various others were testing other tires. Of course Tom was running around on his scooter harassing everyone who had Hoosiers and telling them if the Hoosiers were faster than his tire, he would give them a set, if not, they paid for them. Of the ones who took the challenge........nobody got free tires..........LOL!!!

We made good progress with the Vette and worked out several chassis and power issues. With the mild tune I had in it, the early incrementals said it should have been going 6.50s.........if we could have kept the damn throttle bodies open. I am convinced it is a wiring issue. The wiring in the car is rough and now several years old. They are having it rewired right now.

The viper looks wicked . The link you posted of the car that looks like it has a Chrysler distributer, blue fire wall with the car cover. Any ideal what that was?

I just did a change over to the big bubbas. Kinda feel like a sheep, but that's what the fast dragsters are running and I have had severe tire shake at lower elevation tracks. I also went to their 15" tires. The only complaint I heard was leakage that there is a fix for.

The Big Bubba is a bad azz tire. Tubes fix leaks............LOL!!!

Would rather not run tubes unless I have too. I heard something about dish soap......

Why not?.......it stiffens the sidewalls which is always a good thing
