Easy as pie.
Would love to see what your car would do with a minimum effort on a G3. Matt

Unless something changes my next one will be a GenIII.

I'm surprised that more people haven't made the switch.
for one reason only..... PARTS AVAILABILITY!!!!!
Matt

Matt you are absolutely right on the parts. That's the reason I didn't go that route this time. Also it seems that a lot of guys that know the GenIII stuff aren't talking unless you're buying something. So I went with a R1 Indy head deal.

I would have a lot money in G3 to run what I do with my 360-1 set-up. It went 6.02@113mph and I found more ET right after that and I still have a solid lift cam in that engine.

RAMM and I put together a W9 for engine masters. Or should I say He put it together and I supplied the parts. LOL
Hopefully we will have some G3 builds this year.
I'm thinking with the amount of $$$$ that went into the W9 I could of done the same with less with a G3.
Now keep in mind, IMO there is a limit to all this. Sub 750 hp and I believe a G3 would be cheaper. Anything north of that and everything would be big $$$$.

Which brings me to the topic at hand. Even if the victors are a home run and flow 360 out of the box, we still don't have a good block to use. Matt

I don't know. Your car is light. I think you maybe surprised.
But to be honest I have no proof. lol
I'm a keyboard junkie. lol
Would love to see what you could accomplish with a G3 setup!

Your 422 is .12 quicker than the 408 and your just dying to spend 5k on victor heads when you could buy brand new hemi heads that will outflow them for $1200. Where you come up will the expensive hemi comedy routine every time is beyond me

I have 7500 in my 422 and it's nowhere near a maxed out effort and that includes the cost of the R3 block and way less in the 408 stock block engine. Every hemi build I see has been pretty expensive starting with the core costs to get the project moving along

Ok, congrats. You got a good deal on parts. I bought my 426 short block for 2k. So call it what it is, you have alot of good parts you bought in the 80s for dirt cheap and to start over would not make your wallet happy paying 2016 prices

but look at the biggest advantage of going to a new hemi John, you get to turn every smallblock thread into a gen 3 thread. laugh2

2800 with me in the seat and race ready. I weighted 2550 when my son drove it as he is a hair lighter, I removed the fiberglass doors and installed stock doors with working windows, alternator, bigger radiator, racepak dash, wiring and sensors, and a few other items to make it very racer friendly

The core cost ain't bad around here, $500 gets a good early 5.7, and parts availability is not bad, eagle or even apache heads are way cheaper than edelbrock SB heads... if your willing to spend $1000 on an intake, $1000 on headers, $2000 on EFI or IGN/harness/carb, $500 for an oil pan, got to get a new flywheel/flexplate, none of you SB accessories bolt on, the stroker kits are about $500 more and so on and so on...
