Putting together a 70 dart with my son want to run 18x8 wheels on front with 225/45/18 nittos The wheels he wants have 4.5 backspace anyone try this ? Car will have stock lower a arms and maybe spc uppers 73 up large bolt rotors or possibly wilwood front hubs and brakes.

front suspension is out of car right now so I can not measure it now until I reassemble it some.

Anyone have a dart that you have run anything like this on will it rub ?

Those wheels will be maxed but with the 225 tire you might be fine. Depends on if you want them stuffed. I know of one guy that ran an 18x8 with 4.5" back space on a 70 and he said it was good to go.

A 17x8 fits with 5.72 backspace and a 245 in a 70 A body. 18s are close to those specs work also Bergman runs 18s on his 70 and post often. Look him up.

72swinger what tires-front suspension do you run?

Stock front suspension, 18x9 6.1"bs, 275/35/18. Also use a 67-72 A-body Hotchkis front swaybar.

You guys should attach pics of these wheel/Tire combos, would love to see them.

Here is an 18x9 with 6.5" bs with a 275/35/18 Nitto. Car had 73+ Abody disc swap with 11.75 rotors in these pics.

68 A body... not a Dart. '73 K-frame, Dr Diff Stage IV brakes. 18x9 with 255/40-18. I did trim the fender a little on the leading edge, it is a Barracuda thing.

This is with Dr. Diff 14" brakes and 3/8" spacer. And lowered down where I like it.

What offset are your rear wheels and what (A,B, E body) rear end are you using?

67 B-body housing, wheels are 18x12 with 9" bs.

Old thread I know but do you know what wheels these are? Love them but so hard to find a wheel with just the perfect specs. Thanks.
