This is a first for me, but I have a customer's 440 and the bolts that hold on the oil pump keep leaking oil. Changed them all 1 at a time with the same results. anyone else ever have this issue. Of course it has air and power steering with the ps cooler, so it may become a little bit of a hassle

Leaking from the bolts seems a bit strange to me. Have you checked the oil pump to block gasket & the O rings on the oil pump body?

I agree, I think they only way they could leak is if the O ring or gasket is leaking.

Would good would changing the bolts do ?!?!?!? If the oil pan was leaking would you change all those bolts one at a time too?

Someone was in it before me and it had the wrong length bolts in it (just grabbing a few threads). I took it as a good place to start. I guess I will be getting into it a little deeper. I just never had one of them leak from just the bolts before

I'm guessing this is an HV pump and they had standard bolts. If you bought ARP bolts for this app like the ones 440 source sells they are too long... Could be your issue. Otherwise make sure the O ring is good and use a good gasket. Superperformance sells the BEST oil pump gasket available IMO.

The only way oil can get to the passge in the oil pump for the oil pump bolts is to have pressure between th epump and the block on the area around the bolts, which the stock oil pump gasket gasket should prevent work I use to make my own oil pump to the block gaskets when using a external oil system to prevent the loss of oil prime to the pumps when sitting for more than ten days, I made them so they cover both the suction side of the stock pump to the block and the pressure side hole next to the oil pump stem that goes up into the block scope Good luck thumbsLet us know what you find and do, all gremlins will challenge us hot rodders more than once whistling grin

It isn't leaking from the bolts, that is just where the oil is coming out. There is no oil pressure behind the bolts. Your oil pump gasket is shot.
