Can't not find my ground wire for steering column for 70 challenger. Can anyone tell me how long they are. Unless someone has one for sale.
thanks
Gregg

Since the column support bracket is directly bolted to the "grounded" dash frame, all 1970-74 E body vehicles never required, or were designed with a horn switch ground wire.

If you don't use one then I suggest making sure you get a good ground via your column support bracket. Scrape the paint down to bare metal or use star washers which make for good electrical contact.

Are you referring to grounding the steering column to the body or the lead wire for the horn switch on the steering wheel?

I was only talking about grounding the steering column to the body.

On a 70 Challenger the column is held in by the support bracket. This support bracket is bolted to the column and to the dash frame. So if you don't use a ground wire from the column to the dash frame then you rely on the support bracket to provide a ground path for the column.
In this case you need good electrical connection between the column and support bracket AND between the support bracket and dash frame.

I'm not sure the B and E body wires are the same, but the wire on the left is from a '70 Coronet. Do you have the number of the wire assembly?
