Guys, I'm helping a grieving father build a memorial build for his 12 year old Son Lucas who died in an ATV accident in December. We have a 1968 R/T Coronet and a 6.4 Gen III hemi with the 5 speed Auto NAG1 tranny. Was looking for any help and suggestions of issues to avoid during this build. We are gonna forge the motor and supercharge it. Looking for assistance. Thanks in advance. John

The NAG-1 could cause some problems as it requires quite a bit to get working properly. Others here have more experience than I do. If you want an overdrive a 4l80e might be a better choice.

NP, let us know how it works out when you get it running. I'm curious on what they've disabled on the factory ECM's. Are they still fully tuneable?

I will let you know. I have been in contact with them and they have actually told me not to be too hasty and buy the old computer to make this work...They are working on a wiring harness that makes the 6.4 with the Nag1 plug and play... Thanks again.

I am running the Hotwire setup in my 5.7/NAG1 Mirada, and it runs great. It can be tuned using a Diablosport or Hypertech tuner, and was a very simple install.

Joel, Thanks for the info. Did you tune this yourself? What year is your engine? Mine is a 2012 and I've been told I need an older computer...Is this right?

I used a 2008 Charger drivetrain and all computers, except that I used a 2006 PCM. Hotwire advised me that the 2008 PCM would work if I bought a DiabloSport tuner to change some settings, while the 2006 PCM doesn't require the tuner. I already had a Hypertech tuner, and the 2006 PCM cost less than the DiabloSport, so I went that route. The only earlier part actually required for my build was a 2006 Front Control Module, as the 2008 has the TIPM, which Hotwire couldn't reprogram. Hotwire programs the computers to work together with the tone ring/speed sensor. The only tuning I did was to install the standard Hypertech tune. The 2012 might be different, though.
