I used standard pistons also. If you run near stock bore size you will have to notch the bores with a sanding cone for the big valves. They are nice.

Did you you port the heads or run them stock? On what inch motor are they on? Edelbrock is a great vendor, but I'd still disassemble them, do a bowl blend, clean/check the valve job, and check the guide clearance. No need for porting on a street engine.
