Does anyone have a close weight of a bare 383 block or a small block 727 trans with convertor? I am looking at getting shipping quotes but have no way to weigh them. Thanks and Happy New Year everyone!! Greg

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
11.06 open headers----so far!!

According to AndyF's book a stock bare block will weigh in around 225#, don't know about a 727 and converter.

I'll see if I can get the scale out to the shop
tomorrow and weigh the 727 and 8" conv I have.. I
dont have ANY BB stuff to weigh...but I would guess
its within 30# of a SB
EDIT
I show a weight of 128# for a standard 727.. no conv..
this is from some old paper work when I was building
my race car and the Rampage.. I also got the weight of
the 518 at 172#... no conv

Thanks, those should be close enough for an estimate once I include the pallet and wrapping.

The heaviest SB block I weighed was 170 or less. I weighed a whole mess of em and listed all the weights in another thread.
