It took 0.0075" to square the one side a 5.7 block, they are about the same as old blocks for accuracy.

I thought the tolerances were better than than. Thats horrible.

That sounds like my old 440 block.

i bought a used 426. when I had to fix it the deck was right on the money. Was it fixed by the first shop that built it? I don't know

Yes I'm dissapointed in the the tolerances so far, but that means a well machined engine should be able to pick up some HP.

My machine shop told me to leave the decks alone on my 6.1 block.

.007 is actually crappy tolerance if its a CNC machine. Flat and square and within spec are what makes a good motor even better.
