Thanks mymcodebee. I'll give that a try as well. I've purchased a few different types of undercoating and I'm planning to practice on a piece of metal to see which ones have the best color and look.

does any of the mentioned undercoating dry enough to be painted over?
I've got the same problem on my wife's 71 challenger trunk
does any of this stuff NOT bleed through the paint??
