Have a 1971 charger that I need to completely recharge the system as it was just opened up. How many lbs does the whole system use? Anyone ever try this stuff instead of the R12?

The tag on the compressor says it, 3.6 lbs. using R12 but a good guy will know by reading the gauges properly. Ron

The tag on the compressor says it, 3.6 lbs. using R12 but a good guy will know by reading the gauges properly. The only correct way to refill an empty system is by weight. All of those supposed R-12 replacements are blends containing mostly R-134...stick with R-12.
