Dash is almost in my 68 GTX. I have 2 wires hanging down. I labeled 1 of them wiper but all the wires are plugged into the switch? Any ideas? 1 brown and 1 brown white trace. I will try to post a picture. Thanks Larry J

I detailed the wiring of a three speed 2864014 wiper switch picture that has been moved to Tech Archive folder.

The car has a 2 speed motor. Has what appears to be 2 extra wires 1 brown 1 brown with a white trace. Has anyone ever ran into this? The switch is connected properly and the wipers will work. Just trying to figure out if these wires do something else or are the just there? thanks Larry J

Hi Larry,

My bad for not asking two or three speed first. Ok, shown here are two versions with part numbers 2864012 & 2864045 of two speed rallye rocker wiper switches. Both have the same wiring configuration and terminal positions. The B/U terminal is in a slightly different position between these two type of switches. With the wiper switch multi connector attached leaves the B/U (After internal circuit breaker) open for a power connection to drive the washer pump motor as ruderunner mentioned. Both types of switches had a barb sticking out preventing the typical single female connector from being attached. The correct connector had a dog house shape cut out to allow this connection to be made supplying power to the washer switch.

The brown - white tracer wire is used to create the middle speed resistance for the three speed wiper switch. The factory used the same dash harness with the brown - white tracer either folded back on the dash harness and taped or used on the three speed wiper switch.
