I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the 67-72 biscuit k frame and the 73 up spool mount besides the mounts?
The reason I'm asking is a buddy put a spool mount in his 72 duster and the motor seems to be 1/2 inch or so forward then it was before.
Has anyone run into this before and how would you move it back? Thanks Craig

Not sure if you could put the mts on the front side of the block ears or not. Any possibility you could mod the trans mt and or crossmember to take care of it on that end? SB I am assuming. FYI the 876 pan the sump starts ~2" back from a plumb line straight down from the very front pan lip and ~4" on the 392 pan. both sumps are ~8" long & each pan takes a different pickup.

Why not use the same trans mounting position, then set the engine with the motor mounts NOT on the engine? You could use this to determine the proper position of the mounts.

That is what I was wondering, does the trans mount line-up? work

The transmission is not in. That has slots in the mount so I don't think that would be an issue. The electric cooling fan doesn't fit between the water pump and the radiator anymore

Yes a small block. It has a R3 resto block in it. I would think the ears on the block are in the same place as a factory block.

I'm with Robert, you might have the mounts bolted on the wrong side of the ears. work

If you didn't have a R3 block in it before then you might have an issue with the 340 vs. 360 brackets.

The engine should be in the same place so you have something wrong somewhere. Just a matter of tracking it down.

Is that the only fitment issue you are having with this?

As stated it's a popular upgrade and should place the drivetrain in the same orientation...Keep in mind you'll also need the 73-up lower control arms to use with the later style swaybar if you plan on using it...

That's the big problem. I know he can get a different one but just wanted to ask.

He did have the R3 block in his car. The only thing different is the aftermarket motor mounts.

Put a transmission in the car. It is likely that the mounts are on the wrong side of the block ears.
