I've got an old camshaft of which I'm trying to the specifications to. From what I've read, it seems to be a Crane Cam Core with a Chet Herbert grind but in searching there were two cams with two different specs that used the 689356 number so I'm trying to verify the cam information. Please, can someone help me in finding the original cam specs. Also, this cam is specifically for a Big Block Mopar Wedge engine(3 bolt).
The number on the rear of the camshaft is: 689356(I believe this is the part number) 8A2A(I believe this is the heat treat batch number) The number on the front of the camshaft is: CD274-06 then 274 is listed again by itself. Also No. 4586 is on the front of the cam as well.

If it's a roller, here's my guess.... CD - cam dynamics 274 - duration @ .050 4586 - lobe lift, .4586" 06 - 106 lsa
More than likely a single pattern cam. It would be easy enough to measure the lobe lift to verify it was close to .458.
If it's a flat tappet cam, then it's a judgement call as to whether the 274 is duration @ .050 or advertised, and I think I would let the lobe lift be the deciding factor. If it was like .300-.310 it's more than likely advertised duration, if it's like .340+ then it's likely duration @ .050.
