Hey Guys, I usually don't post in this part of the forum, but I am at my wits end with my 2007 Dodge Nitro R/T. If any of you are familiar with them, you undoubtedly know that some of them have a stalling problem that can be outright dangerous (just Google "Nitro stalling" and you can see what I am talking about). My latest stall occurred on I-80, and I was lucky I was in the No. 4 lane to be able to use the rolling inertia I still had to be able to make it to the shoulder. Anyway, my Nitro has 138K on it, which is far from where I wanted to be for considering it used up and ready to retire. I've changed out the fuel pump, ignition coils, and most recently paid around $800 for a new Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), and software reflash, which was what a lot of people said would cure the issue. Unfortunately, I still have the same hard-starting problems and the random stall. At this point, I refuse to drive this SUV anymore. Any ideas? (I used to ridicule GM for all the stalling problems that their Cobalts and other vehicles had, but now am having to reevaluate because it seems that even Ma Mopar has these issues...)

Looks like the Mods deleted my reply, so here goes again...
Stumpy, I had been throwing parts at it (just like the other people who had problems), but finally wised-up.
I had the PCM reflashed with all the latest updates within the last six months, but that also didn't cure the issue. According to the prevalent wisdom, the TIPM replacement was supposed to cure the problem, but it didn't do it for me, either.
Still hoping there is a magic bullet that I haven't thought of... Oh yeah, both the PCM and TIPM were done at a large Chrysler dealer nearby.

Update in case someone is facing the same problem:
It finally threw a code, which was P0404
One EGR valve and a 10mm socket wrench later, it seems to be doing fine.
Interestingly enough, two symptoms of a clogged/failing EGR are "intermittent stalling" and "surging off idle."
Exactly the problems I was having!
