I have 71 drum from an E body and 73 disc from a B body. Which one would you choose and why? I plan on 13" or 14" disc brakes and the Wilwood 14" kit is a direct fit for the 71 spindles and is a reasonable price. Dr Diff 13" stage 4 kit is a great buy. One better than the other handling wise? I've got Hotchkis UCA. What are your thoughts?

Just found that Classic Industries has a sale price of $1775 on the Wilwood kit with an addition 30% off for the promo their running so its $1509. This is hard to pass up!

run the drum spindles with the c body rotors he sells, and the viper brake kit!! i know a place you can get the viper calipers for 300$ with pads.. i too have the hotchkis uca, and the qa1 lowers and the entire tvs.. i lookes at wildwood and so did buddy and there were fitment issues with our year one 17 inch magnums.. plus that wildwood is big money.. anyways thought id chime in..

I believe the '73 spindles are larger diameter in the bearing area and run bigger bearings w/o spacers. I believe this is an advantage in a handling application where loads are much increased.

The '73 spindles are also a couple of pounds lighter and .375" taller, which raises the roll center pivot point.

Both of these are potential improvements, but are very minor ones which you may or may not necessarily notice depending on your usage.

True, but if we're talking about buying spindles why not get the ones that offer more opportunity for improvement that you could take advantage of in the future and not buy spindles twice to do that.

Don't be the exception.

Go with the smaller brakes.
Unless you like bling there's no reason to have 30 lb rotors.

I went with 14" brakes because they were the only easy big brake option for me 11 years ago.
