Does anyone have any experience with the ProComp Electronics that Mancini is currently selling? Specifically HEI Chrysler 318 Dist. and the 6AL MULTI - SPARK CDI IGNITION box?

Perhaps I'm missing something, that thread did not appear to have any useful information regarding the Mancini distributor which is a CNC machined units nor the 6AL Multi Spark CDI ignition box.

The distributor that Mancini sells is actually a ProForm, not a ProComp. The reason that 70aarcuda posted the link to the other thread is because of the explaination of the differences between the GM style HEI distributor and the retrofit HEI distributors. To further explain the difference, Mancini's ProForm HEI is a GM style. It has the huge distributor cap with the coil mounted in the cap. As I explained in the other thread, with the distributor mounted in the back of the engine, there is not a whole lot of room for clearance between the firewall and the distributor. The concern here is that the distributor will contact the firewall. As alternatives, if you check Mancini's Billet distributors, the offer an MSD Ready-to-Run, but they are pretty spendy. Or, if you check the link in the link posted above, you'll find an HEI type distributor that does not use the huge cap and doesn't have the clearance issues. Other members have used this distributor with good results and, when I get some money, I'm thinking of going this route myself.
