? for you A-body B.B.guys. On 69 big block Darts does #7 spark plug wire run up, over and along the top of the drivers side valve cover, or down along the side of the engine? I think I`ve got the wrong valve cover on this car. Also is it the same way for both 383`s and 440 darts. Thanks.

Did you buy the correct wires? The A-Body's have one different wire then the regular sets because of the issue you mentioned. They are available as I bought a set off Ebay and it was the correct length. I will see if I can dig-up the place that had them. wave

Thanks Rhino, waiting to hear back from you. So I guess I have a wrong driver side valve cover then. The one I have has no wire holders attached to it for a wire to run along the top if it. Are the 383 and 440 Dart`s plug wires run the same way?

Here are some pics from the GTS Registry about plug wire routing and the proper holders. The valve covers are not original in the pics, they are the Direct Connection tall covers. I do have a few original covers and will take a pic so you can match-up yours.

Yes,the wires run the same way 383 or 440.I used a c-body d/s valve cover when I restored my dart.Sounds like you have a b-body cover now. John.

I think your right charge70, it must be off a B-body car. It looks right except it does not have any plug wire holders. I have some single odd & end valve covers kicking around, I`ll have to look around and see if I can find the proper one. Now what do I do about a #7 plug wire? Any suggestions. I was getting ready to order one of those date coded set, but I'm guessing #7 wire will be to short now.

Google "Herbs Parts" he has a-body big block wire sets in various date codes.

My thanks to Charge70 for steering me in right direction for the special plug wires I needed. Yes Herb's has them. And thanks to Rhino for posting photos showing me how the wires run. I couldn't of done it without you 2. Many, many thanks.

All most of us want it to make sure questions are answered correctly and cars get back on the street for us all to see! At least I am selfish like that... biggrin You are most welcome! wave

Yes the 383 and 440 wires run the same , the left valve cover is the same as the Left cover for lo po 383,440 all platforms and HP 383/440 in a C Body.

383 had chrome covers , 440 I'm 99% sure painted covers .

Thanks for the info JohnRR. Since posting this question I`ve come up with a proper drivers side valve cover, I think from a C-body car. Anyway it has the wire holders for the #7 plug wire to run along the top of it.

Thanks John

I see that "WR49A" has a funky bracket or 2..... unlike a B-Body
