Many here running this set up? Was just curious as to how well they work on a street/strip car with 11 to 1 compression, 600 lift solid roller and a 3600 converter.

Since I haven't had any luck with my demon I am debating pulling the crossram off the hemi and going with the EFI holborn set up.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Scott

Years ago, early 2000s, I saw a Hilborn or Enderle type stack injection that had been converted to EFI in a 1940 Ford on a 426 Hemi, it started well, idle well and supposidly drove well shruggy My message is that it has been done many times by now scope

They work great.......done several.

Since you have a HEMI, the most bucks down way to handle it, would be find and old setup and convert it to EFI

The "wow" factor (the reason why most builders choose one) sort of goes away when you realize there's no air cleaner that leaves the stacks visible.
They're also pretty small, IIRC the last Crower for BBC had 2.90" butterflies.

You could also use a sprint car style rectangular filter on it for the street if you can fit it under the hood. RC2 makes nicer filters and bases for this application.

I've sold and tuned quite a few for way less that $7500 too (about $3500), but you should definitely run sequential injection with a Hilborn since there is no common plenum.

This is the kit I was looking at

http://www.alkydigger.net/proddetail.php?prod=HIL426CH8K%2FEL

I see where Indy has a kit, but it doesn't appear to have a pump.

According to the emails I have been sending back and forth to Alkydigger all I have to supply is the fuel line, everything else is in the kit.

The ones I typically sell are 2 3/8 tubes. The one you mention is way to big for the street IMO.

Pump is easy. It's just determined by the max HP level of the engine. You DO NOT want an alky pump for EFI unless you are way up in HP - like over 1500. A1000 pump is good for 1000 and a couple of filters and an EFI regulator and you're done. Don't get confused by what the alcohol guys have to do.

so what would an entire KIT from you run including everything be?

The sensors, pump, filters, intake, injectors the whole nine yards?

Send me an email (rich@fastmanefi.com). Also check out fastmanefi.com
- Give me a zip code so I can estimate shipping, and a phone number.
- What's the engine's type, displacement, expected HP, and what heads are used.

Those are the 9,000 RPM stacks, yes?

Re: Attachments
I'm not talking about what's possible, I'm talking about what people do - which is to tie pantie hose over 14" stacks, just the thing for that drive down to the beach. Save time: dump your vacuum cleaner bag into the oil pan before you start it.

WRT size: let me guess, the correct size for dedicated IR throttle disc area is 1/8th of the correct 2 X 4 size for tunnel ram?
Actually, it's much, muuuch bigger. It's that annoying "physics" thing.

Mike at Alkydigger in Nashville is a great guy, great company--treats you right--does he sell for cost plus 5% -Na! Does he offer superior service and new Hilborn for good deal? Yes he does.
Aiming for Hilborn EFI, turn key is not easy and will not be cheap no matter the route taken. Don't buy some worn out ratted up Hilborn and expect to just add a few tricks and be running--ain't gonna happen--but..call Mike, get box in mail, bolt on, have several phone calls with Mike--Then...enjoy your new EFI! Short cuts usually never work out so well.

I have enjoyed a great season racing my Hilborn injected car--Thanks to Mike at Alkydigger None Better!!!

There is an advantage to stacks (vs. EFI using tuned runners to a plenum and throttle plate(s)).
A stack (FI, EFI, or Weber, Dell'Orto etc.) completely isolates its cylinder's intake cycle from vacuum changes in the adjacent cylinders (the 5-7 being the most common), and also from any exhaust gas contamination from an adjacent cylinder. This improves the idle quality quite a bit, makes better manners in traffic, cleaner plugs.

Hint for air filters: as long as the "cap" over each stack end is large enough (50% more area than the stack x-section) the duct to the actual filter need not be round or circular. A rectangular box with low height and large width leading to a remote filter with a cold air inlet will do quite well.
