The "wow" factor (the reason why most builders choose one) sort of goes away when you realize there's no air cleaner that leaves the stacks visible. They're also pretty small, IIRC the last Crower for BBC had 2.90" butterflies.

Those are the 9,000 RPM stacks, yes?
Re: Attachments I'm not talking about what's possible, I'm talking about what people do - which is to tie pantie hose over 14" stacks, just the thing for that drive down to the beach. Save time: dump your vacuum cleaner bag into the oil pan before you start it.
WRT size: let me guess, the correct size for dedicated IR throttle disc area is 1/8th of the correct 2 X 4 size for tunnel ram? Actually, it's much, muuuch bigger. It's that annoying "physics" thing.

Mike at Alkydigger in Nashville is a great guy, great company--treats you right--does he sell for cost plus 5% -Na! Does he offer superior service and new Hilborn for good deal? Yes he does. Aiming for Hilborn EFI, turn key is not easy and will not be cheap no matter the route taken. Don't buy some worn out ratted up Hilborn and expect to just add a few tricks and be running--ain't gonna happen--but..call Mike, get box in mail, bolt on, have several phone calls with Mike--Then...enjoy your new EFI! Short cuts usually never work out so well.
I have enjoyed a great season racing my Hilborn injected car--Thanks to Mike at Alkydigger None Better!!!

There is an advantage to stacks (vs. EFI using tuned runners to a plenum and throttle plate(s)). A stack (FI, EFI, or Weber, Dell'Orto etc.) completely isolates its cylinder's intake cycle from vacuum changes in the adjacent cylinders (the 5-7 being the most common), and also from any exhaust gas contamination from an adjacent cylinder. This improves the idle quality quite a bit, makes better manners in traffic, cleaner plugs.
Hint for air filters: as long as the "cap" over each stack end is large enough (50% more area than the stack x-section) the duct to the actual filter need not be round or circular. A rectangular box with low height and large width leading to a remote filter with a cold air inlet will do quite well.
