I use a quilt or a moving blanket from a friend that worked for United Van Lines. They are a heavy material and gives plenty of cushion between the hood and roof. Both have a smooth, soft material.

Thanks for the replies. Mine is not a vinyl top so I'll go with a thick blanket. Didn't know if there was a specific piece for it. Randy

You don't need a thick blanket. I owned lift off hood RoadRunners for 35 years. When you put the hood on the roof, the bottom ribs only touch at the low point in the middle of the front and the outside corners at the back. I always used a bath towel on the back part of the roof and a smaller towel folded over in four underneath the middle of the front part of the hood. The towels hardly even show and you don't have to carry a blanket around.

Use a couple of these. They're sticky and will do the trick.

The hood prop rods are the best cause if a Big wind comes up it could slide your hood off the roof.
I like the quilt/blanket better then the towels as you have great protection/ better protection if the hood slides around any. I store the quilt/blanket in the trunk with the lawn chairs so it is no problem hauling it around.
Also if you take the wife for a ride you can always stop somewhere, get out the blanket, set it on the ground, get out your picnic basket, and make her day. (if she gets cold you have a blanket for her also.) Lol, Multiple uses.
