1 sq/ft of 1/4" glass weighs 3.2 lbs, 1 sq/ft of
1/4" lexan weighs 1.56 lbs.... this is just the glass
alone not counting any mech stuff you might take off

if you're thinking Lexan,Shawn, there is a big difference in weight between the 2...as far as what does it weigh...I never weighed my glass when I took it all out of the duster...my guess would be at least 30lbs for the windshield and perhaps 20 for the rear window..

the sides i would say about 10-15 lbs...so about 60-70lbs woul be my guess for glass...I would leave the mechanism and use it with the lexan inserts if thats what you want...ya know the Lexan is about 1/3 the weight...

I would keep the glass...my 63 has the rear side quarter windows replaced with lexan and the mechanisms taken out...those were surprisingly heavy....

Your car and mine share a lot of pieces. Mine a 65'Sedan Post, yours a 64'Sedan post.
I can look at my strict records in the next day and get you an accurate weigh in for the stock glass and Lexan. You game?

I weighed every thing on this puppy at the expense of my sanity and respect from supposed friends.LOL. It's hard explaining mad science to normal people.
You'll save a good few and still be able to roll 'em up and down. A good cleaning program will keep 'em looking like glass.
A few other tricks will take off more in the mechanics and door inner skins.
PS: keep your rear glass in, it helps weight transfer.

Shawn or anyone else needing the 411 .
Here it is:
*Front windshield- 30 Lbs approximately.
Lexan pre-shaped AFX Bubble windshield from Jim Kramer 11 1/2 Lbs.

*Side door vent windows- 3 Lbs for the pair.
*Side door windows- 16-1/2 Lbs for the pair.
*Side rear quarter windows- 13-1/2 Lbs for the pair.
Replacing all of the above side windows with
Lexan comes to 8 Lbs combined.

*Back window- 22 Lbs.
Hope this inspires you to join the crazy mad scientist club here.LOL.
