All -

I was looking through some 1970 Cuda trunk pictures and noticed that the jacks in those trunks have a hollow, "D Shaped" notched shaft that the jack mechanism moved up and down on. The jack in the trunk of my 1970 Cuda is a solid steel "T" shaped shaft with large teeth that the jack mechanism slides over. My jack mechanism also has a "A" and "9F" stamped into it.

So, my question...Were there two different styles of jacks for a 1970 Cuda, or do I have a jack set-up for another body style and/or year.

Anyone that has some original pictures of unrestored jacks from a 1970 Cuda, would you please post them?

Lastly - is the 2931101 hook correct for a rubber bumper equipped car?

Thanks.

The T style is the correct one for an AAR, not sure if another was used in a different part of the year. I have other pictures but finding them on short notice might throw me. Nick's garage has probably the best listing of jacks and hooks that I have seen.

I have seen both T and tube style. Is it a build plant or build date thing? The rubber bumper hook is 2931101.

They used both types but I think the T types is more common in 70.

9F is your date code - 1969 June

Thanks everyone. I have the same type of jack pictured by mopar346. I don't see that type of jack in the pictures on Nick's Garage website.

Not sure if the jack type is related to the factory or build timing. My car is a LA build, with a scheduled date of Nov 21st.

Does anyone have any additional details?

You're right they are all tube style on Nick's, I never noticed that, I have used the site for hook numbers and IDing other jacks but I guess never for my AAR since I knew what went in it.

AAR were out of the hamtramck plant and built between March and April of 70.

Interesting. I checked the 1970-71 parts book, and it only lists 1 universal number for the jack, PN: 3549587 (Section 13-72-1). I don't see a specific number for two different jacks, or one specific for each model. But, it looks like there were a couple different types installed in 1970.
