I'm looking for a dragstrip to go run at for a weekend in January or February down South. Preferably in California or Arizona. I got a new car and want to test before I go to the Spring Fling in Vegas in April. Any ideas?

Try conacting Irwindale, 1/8 mile, Fontana 1/4 mile, Bakersfield 1/4 or Barona 1/8 near San Diego in SO CAand ask them about thier race schedules Sacremaento, 1/4 mile is having a New Years day race but it could be rained out due to El Nino

I'd say from a logistics standpoint, Wild Horse in SE Phoenix would be your best bet.

- and good luck getting some passes in, since it is the only track open in the entire state - and I am holding my breath on Tucson dragway opening in January.

I looked at the Wild Horse website and all I saw for drag racing was Friday night stuff? Unless I'm missing something???

Great to hear Tucson Dragway is racing again. How and is there any changes in the operation?

Schedules get pretty light around Dec/Jan... I don't think Fontana even has any 2016 stuff out yet. It's too bad Speedworld was closed.... they often ran a good track in January/Feb. Fri night stuff at Wild Horse I imagine would be street car stuff and you would most likely be wasting your time trying to get legitimate seat time. March 18-20 is Mopars at The Strip in Vegas so "if" it's a mopar that would give you a good weekend to get some hits on the track you want to race at.

Just a guess, but with Jim Hughes in an ownership role, I'm thinking that it will be open much much more..
