Kinda torn, looking at a 2005 SRT6 with 33,000 miles, who here owns one... pros? cons? what to look for?

I have a '04 coupe, NA with 6spd manual. It is a fun little car, I am sure the SRT6 with another 100hp would be even more fun, although the auto might deminish your fun factor. Depends if you want to row your own or not . . . If the car is in good shape, when go for it. . . check over at the crossfire forum for further information. . . one other consideration . . . the '06 and up Mercedes Benz SLK55 AMG are getting down enough in price to think about one of those versus the SRT6 - MB made the SLK55 a bit longer and wider, so fits a larger guy (such as I) better, and you have 5.5 litre, 360HP NA V8, with 7 speed automatic, AND, retractable hardtop !! . . . I ended up getting a '06 SLK55 AMG, and WOW !!! It can definetly keep up with muscle cars (or better them), as well as modern muscle - and the SLK handles/stops !!

Cheers

Mark

I had a little Aero Blue SRT6 coupe. It was tons of fun.

The problem I see with them now is that they have been abandoned by Chrysler. The hard suspension parts you can get through Mercedes (SLK32). We get a few calls at the Mercedes store from Crossfire owners looking for bulb sockets and such but we can't help them. The XF was unique in many of those things.

If you can fit in the car it's an awesome little ride. I'm 6' tall. The best seat position was an inch or so away from the rearmost position with the seat reclined against the bulkhead.

If the choice was between the Crossdresser and the SLK55 I would do the AMG all day long. I really enjoyed high speed runs (140-150 mph) in the SLK. I seriously considered buying one but the $500 brake rotors were hard to take.

We are brothers and sisters doing time on the planet for better or worse. I'll take the better, if you don't mind.
