I just purchased a 39,000 mile motor to replace the motor I broke a rod bolt in.
It's a good running piece but I would like install a small cam before I install it in the car. I have a RPM intake, headers, 3500 vert and 3.91 gears.
My question is there a cam I can install without having to change the valve springs to bump up the output?

I'd really consider a set of springs, cheap insurance and better performance. As for a cam, short duration & about 112 LC will help mask the low CR; lift will help it breathe & make power, and I'd look for at least .480, as much as .510. X2.

Im looking to use a Hughes Whiplash cam kit. Too aggressive for stock springs IMO.
