Electrical is just not my thing, I have not even a clue where to start. When I press the brake, my brake lights come on, but only if my headlights are off, turn them on and I have no brake lights. When I put my turn signals on all corners flash, really slowly and dim too.

I replaced the headlight switch, no luck. I have no idea where to even start to look. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be wonderful.

Thanks, Paul.

Check the ground wire between engine and body

Your taillights are not getting properly grounded, most likely.

I'd take a pair of jumper wires with alligator clips & temporarily ground the bulb metal socket in the rear tail lights on each side to a KNOWN good ground

Definitely sounds like a ground issue. Like was mentioned, use a wire to make sure you have a good known ground and see if that takes care of it. Try it on 1 light at a time and this may help you isolate which socket has the problem.

Here's my vote, replace your tail light bulbs. One of the filaments is broken and has shorted to the other filament causing all the lights to flash with the turn signals. Should be fairly easy to check and bulbs are cheap.

The housing has to have a good ground.Thats how they ground the bulb.Had a similar problem with my Ram when I had it.I ran a ground from the socket to the screw that hold the housing in the bed. That and check the connector wher it plugs in under the bed. Most have the green death from age and water.Rocky

Changing the bulbs couldnt hurt, but I would agree it is a ground problem. I just had a problem on my ram. My running lights would work but if I hit my brake, signal or put it in reverse the wrong lights would lite at the wrong times. I started with the bulbs. Then as I had the tail lights out I followed the wire looking for any problem. I found a wire had broke off at a connecter. It was the ground wire so I stripped it back and grounded it to the chassis with a self tapping screw. Works better then ever.

Good luck
