Hey guys

I'm building a 8.75" 3.23 Sure Grip diff for my '69 Super Bee by mixing and matching some parts.

Anyway, long story short, while removing the old stuck carrier bearings, somebody trying to help me got carried away with a cutoff wheel and one of the carrier bearing surfaces (on the diff) got cut like 1/16" deep!

Is this differential scrap now, or is this maybe not a too highly stressed area?

Thanks!

This may be a good time to note that DoctorDiff has new 8 3/4 nodular cases for sale.

Nodular iron has 50% more stiffness than gray cast, which is what the stockers are made out of. Stiffness is what keeps the pinion firmly pressed against the ring gear when you accelerate.
