On a stock '65 radiator, are the fittings that the cooler lines connect to threaded into the radiator? Can they be changed?

Yes they are threaded and yes they can be changed. Hopefully they were not soldered in sometime in the radiators life. Can still be changed, just a little more work. Take the old fittings to your local parts store and match them up in their brass fitting cabinet.

Good luck!
