Red needs to be hooked to a key on source, like the radio fuse, and the white should be hooked up to the dash light fuse. That way it adjusts with the dash lights and is only on when the lights are on. Black ground and green to the coil neg.

can i hook them up at the back of the fusebox. there are factorywise free connectors. the red on onto the acc-fuse and the white onto the inst-fuse?

looks similiar like this:

actually that is the best way (right there at the UPSTREAM/INPUT end) cuz that way you ain't adding any (addit'l) load to any circuit. For your switched power you would want to tap into a terminal that is "on" when you turn the key on rather than ACC which would only be hot when the key is turned back to ACC (if I am reading that right). Wouldn't hurt to add an inline fuse holder/fuse in series from where you tap into out to the tach to protect it. for the light you could tap into the downstream end of that circuit as that addit'l single bulb would not overload that circuit & you wouldn't need to add a fuse in that line as the INST fuse would protect the instrument bulbs & your added bulb in the tach. EDIT you could likely get by with tapping switched 12V for the tach main power from the downstream fuse end of say the heater circuit as it is a heavy draw circuit & I ain't sure how much a tach draws and I dont think it is too much but I just like to be proactive & take no chances (have everything fused/not overloaded)
