I am considering buying a couple of things tomorrow from a guy, scat connecting rods (new) and some used TRW pistons #4007032. That is what he said was on the top of the pistons. Could I please get some help on figuring out what they are? He believes they are 360 12:0.1. He is not sure of the overbore if any though. Thanks for the help!

Mike

Better get inside Ma. Looks like a storm's comin'.

I found a P4007042 for a TRW 11.5:1 +.030" piston for a 360, but couldn't find the 32 number. I have that in a couple of books. The 340 pistons were P369xxxx numbers in 1983, then P412xxxx or later by 1990. You might need a mid-1980s catalog to find that number.

Can you just measure the piston (bore diameter and compression height)? The compression height on the 340 pistons will be around 1.82" or so, 1-13/16". The 360 compression height should be around 1.68", or 1-11/16".
