Hello,
I have a set of 4782 and 4783 6 pack carbs, that came on a 6 pack Challenger I bought needing restoration.
These carbs dont have vaccum actuated outboard carbs, they are mecanichally actuated and each outboard carb has an accelerator pump. Kinda like a double pumper holley carb.
If I use these carbs, I would probably be bulding a stock looking 6 pack engine with the internal tricks like ported heads, hyd roller cam and a stroker bottom end.
I was wondering if these carbs are useable, or if I should just sell em an get a set of original 6 pack carbs for my Challenger.
I would like the car to run good and hard on the strip, but 95% of the time it would see street use. I would hate if they would not be streetable and would be fouling the plugs all the time at part throttle, etc.

I use them in my 400hp 360, 11.2 to 1cr, home ported J's, small solid cam, 520 lift 244 @.050 on the intake. 727 with a 4,400 9.5" vert. Absolutely love them, floor it and the car just jumps and takes off. They flow more than the original 6 packs, like about 1,100cfm. The outer carbs are just a 850dp cut in half.

these carbs were on my cuda when I picked it up in 1994 - I couldn't get the car to really run - so I put the MP electronic ignition kit in - but went with the lighter spring kit - then rebuilt the carbs - center had 31 shooters and 64 jets, outboards had 28 shooters and 82 jets - 6.5 power valve, air/fuel screws at 3 full turns, and my timing was 12 degrees with 36 total and full advance in at 1800 - NGK plugs gapped at .040, 3500 converter and 3.55 8 3/4 - not sure on the cam - was in motor, but with 915 heads and 2" Hooker Super Comps - the car was a riot - rediculous power - I can't imagine what these guys are feeling now with 5-6-700 horsepower on tap - and traction control - lol, but I love these carbs. I will not get rid of them until I see how the stock carbs run after Scott at HARMS went through them. The MP engines book say's "not to run them" - but I loved them - instant kick in the pants and no burps or sputters ever...my ![twocents twocents](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/twocents.gif) btw Domingo - I drove my cuda for almost 20 years like this - not everyday obviously, but street and highway - maybe 3 times a week - work on weekends sometimes 25 miles each way, no fouled plugs, - forgot about the stage 3 MVB in the trans - that's coming out for a stage 2 shift kit - the car was very driveable... I still like these carbs

Domingo, if you decide to go a different route and sell/trade those carbs, let me know. I have 1 4783 and 1 4782 carb. Been looking for 1 more, but will buy a complete set if needed. I have a complete set of Vacuum carbs for a 340 that I traded for. I could send pics if needed. Keep me in mind.... joe
