Can anyone tell me for sure what paint is correct on a big block (383 or 440) dual snorkel air cleaner in 1971? I know that the '70 had a wrinkle finish but I am seeing just a gloss or semi gloss black paint on some '71's. Was the '71 black wrinkle finish also or just underhood black? Thanks for this forum, Moparts.

On B bodies, I've found both wrinkle finish and smooth black to be correct.

Shouldn't be gloss black but they could be like the suede finish used on the interiors. Here is my original '70 and my '71 Charger one looks like the same finish.

Appreciate all the responses. Think I'll go with a "satin"/semi gloss finish. Thanks.

Not to rob the thread. Does anyone know what the correct wrinkle or paint you should use?
