Hey does anyone know where i can get a 1974 Dodge Challenger Vapor Separator. It connects to the rear shock crossmember and has 4 pipes on one side that connects to the gas tank.
Does anyone make these and do they go bad?

If yours is missing, you'll have to find a used one. They can rust out but there is nothing in them that can really go bad. You can soak them in EvapoRust to get them cleaned up inside. Any pin holes will need to be brazed.(hopefully the separator hasn't had gas in it for a long time)

Thanks for the quick detailed response.
Yep that's it.
Mine looks better than yours did at the start but i did a bone head move and stored the car with gas in it. Didn't think i would let it sit for so long.
I am replacing the lines, gas tank, and sending unit due to varnishing up.
I just thought it might be bad too.
So as long as no lines are blocked it's fine to clean up, repaint and reuse?

Block three of the four lines and blow in/out of the other. You should hear/feel a check ball moving back and forth. It only allows air flow in the middle of its travel. As long as that's working, you should be good to go. If it's not, soak it in EvapoRust to clean up the inside.

K i just blew air thru each tube while blocking off the others. i was not paying attention to the check ball.
Which way should i blow the air thru, the single one or the 4 ?

Doesn't matter. Just block three of the four on that one side. Leave the other two open. Blow in and out.(with your mouth...not compressed air)

Someone posted a picture of the inside once. Their picture didn't show any check ball. I don't know if they changed them at some point or not. My 73 definitely has something on the inside. If it flows air I think you are good.

I had one of those on my 73 charger. Mine seemed to be empty. No check ball rolling around.
