Anyone ever measured the actual lift loss due to the push rod angles with Indy 360 heads?

Thanks

I broke in my solid cam yesterday and will probable put the inner springs in tonight. If I get a chance I will throw a dial indicator on a rocker and check it for you.

It's bad, on our 360-1 motor in my car currently, I have .466in and .429ex with 1.8 jesels. It should be .838in and .772ex lift, but...... I have .765in and .705ex at the valve lifts, after lash and deflection, my uncle and I have done enough of these to know that must be taken into consideration, for what u want at the valve lifts. This is with 3/8s pushrods as well. Just part of the sweet 59 degree stuff lol. I'm sure with more or less spring pressures your results will vary.

Wow, .073" and .067" loss! I guessed it maybe .040". Today I had Dwayne Porter order my cam. It looks like I'll need 1.7 rockers instead of 1.65s.

Pittsburg, if you don't mind checking I'd appreciate it.

I am not completely sure but on my 360-2 's with 1.65 T&D I think mine went from .704 down to .68x something.

Justin I'm sorry but I tried to get some good measurements for you but with the engine in the car I would have had to make up a plate to hold the mag base steady and just didn't have the time. I finished the tune and have the car loaded for testing tomorrow at PRP.

I don't like these rocker adjusters (indy rockers) so I will probably be back inside the covers real soon.

No problem. I haven't ordered the rocker arms yet and was just curious to know how much loss there was at the retainer. I'm thinking 1.7 instead of 1.65 would be a smart move.
