what is the proper method of installing new rubber bushings in the lca? ive never had a problem with the polys, but the rubber is giving me trouble this time. i pressed the bushing into the arm, but when pressing in the pivot shaft, it wants to push the rubber and inner sleeve out through the torsion bar end. yes i did remove the old sleeve from the shaft so thats not it. any ideas? thank you.

The "shaft" is pressed into the bushing first, then the bushing with the shaft, is pressed into the lower control arm.
The link to the above article is very helpfull.

You can press in the shaft after you install the bushing in the LCA. You just need to back up the sleeve with a steel or aluminum spacer from the back side of the LCA. I have used a deep socket for this purpose.

If they are real close tossing the shaft in the freezer for 24 hrs to shrink it might help.

I have now done this both ways and I will never press in the bushing first ever again. The trick is having a piece of pipe that fits on the bushing colar over the pin. Good luck to all.
