I am happy with my pro stick.. the pro ratchet is different..in my pro stick I cant mess up a shift, first pull into second is just a pull, last shift you have to pull the trigger...coming to a stop you can just push the shifter all the way to 1st...the only thing about this shifter is the cable is in the front of the shifter..

I bought a second hand brand new b&m megashifter for about a $100 a few years ago and just installed it this last year with my rebuilt 727 with a cope reverse valve body. I'm loving it so far. Just had to get a separate reverse pattern indicator window instead of the forward.

Had an old B&M Quick Click years ago, bought it new, ratchet style shifter for my drag car. Ratchet mechanism broke while in the water box, cost me a run in the semi finals. Never again will I use a ratchet shifter. Bought the B&M equivalent of the hurst quarter stick. It has interchangeable gates for forward or reverse valve bodies - you buy the gate you need. I'll only use a gated after market auto trans shifter from now on - my , my experience...

And its not a ton of money. Ron

I've had my TA shifter in my Cuda since 88 or 89 no issues. Just removed it from the Cuda and put it in my Belvedere.
Ok

I also used a B&M Quick Click in my old race car and because of the cable routing I had issues with header heat and cable destruction. I now have a Cheetah for the new racer and the cable comes out the back of the shifter and comes at the trans from the rear...no more issue!! Personally I would not bother with a RMVB on a street car or even a street/strip car. I found out from Al Young (many time NW drag champion) that all the times we raced he used an auto valve body with custom governor weights from Pat Blais that shifted itself and his shifter was mostly for show. Al's Bardahl Challenger is in the Seattle Museum of History & Industry and on display frequently

I had a B&M Quick Silver and replaced it with a Cheetah SCS. Had nothing but problems with the B&M.

It has the little lever you push to go in reverse and you can push it with your right hand as I do and then just push the shifter into reverse with the same hand. You dont have to hold the revere lever when going in reverse as you just push it and then let it go and then use the same hand and put the shifter in reverse. I think some think you need two hands to go into reverse when they see the extra lever but you do not. Ron

What model cheetah shifter for a Mopar comes with rear exit? Turbo action shows them leaving the front of the shifter, bending around in a circle and approaching the trans from the rear. They show the Chevy and Ford shifters as having rear exit. Perhaps you have a Glide in your race car? http://www.turboaction.com/shifter2.html Oh, by the way I notice that racecar spelled backwards spells racecar.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
