i ran 325/50's and 28x10.5 slicks my 66 belvedere, we cut the front edge of the fender lip as far forward as we could, i traded my 325's for 315's(for another car)i can try them on the 66 if you need me too but if you already have 29.5's on yours then your there, a 315 is only 29.6" tall

Randy ,I have my slicks on my D50 right now so you can try my 315/60's and see if they fit. They are on 10 in wheels.

1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...

I run a 30 x 9 Hoosier radial slick on my 63 and I use 4.30's. But it is a street car I drive all the time on them tires. Ron

What the back space on you're wheels Glenn? Would trade these slicks for a fair pair of DRs.
You going to the 256 callout at Moulton sat?

I have 325/50-15 drag radials on my '65 Coronet or for street I run a 315/45-17. Width isn't the problem on my car with the mini-tub, but a 30 inch tire would be tough to fit in there.

That's what I'm thinking, it's mini tubed and the rear is one inch shorter on each side, got plenty of width, will change over to some 3.54s this fall, just trying to get it the way I want before engine goes back in.
If it wasn't already painted would open up the openings at the front if I had to, I can live with 295s if the 315s won't go,
D50 is gonna let me try his so will know for shure this week anyway.

You can use a longer spring hanger to move the axle back a bit but you have to be careful since then you need to double check the driveshaft length as well as shock clearance and gas tank clearance etc.
