I replaced the windshield in my 1970 Plymouth Satellite. It only leaks in one small spot at the top corner on the driver's side. I guess the guy who put it in didn't seal it up correctly. If you look at it there looks to be a pin head sized hole right where the rubber seal makes the 90 degree bend from going vertical to the horizontal. When the car was in for paint and body (the windshield was replaced before that) and the chrome trim was off, we put a bead of silicone around the entire seal to ensure no leaks. It doesn't leak anywhere, but one tiny spot.

My question is, "Does anyone make a 'foam-a-fill-type' product that will expand and seek out the crack/hole?" I know they make a household (for homeowners) expand-a-foam product for windows and doors that doesn't put much pressure so your home's windows aren't stressed by the pressure of the expanding foam product. It is supposed to be "water resistant". I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Thanks.

When I did my 66 dart WS the store that only carries auto body supplies sold me a caulking tube of WS specific sealer that hardened hard as a rock. several years later when I went back they only sold tubes of non hardening sealer which I used on my 65 dart but it never saw rain so dont know if there was a difference in how it performed. Can you access the pinhole without removing the windshield so you can squirt some sealer in there

The one on my 70 RoadRunner leaks too, I got a guy to install it and I don't think he got enough sealer around the glass and I'm thinking if I try to take the trim off I'm going to mess my paint up. I don't know of any sealer like your talking about. Good Luck with it

Is this a "gasket" set WS? If so, you want the non hardening sealer ( used to call it Butyl.. Go buy a tube at your local Auto Glass shop.

Pretty sure you will have to remove all of the silicone sealer you used.. WRONG product and it is probably causing your leak..

RapidRobert: Yes, the pin hole is accessible. When you say, "so you can squirt some sealer in there," ... what type of sealer? Minivan: I have some butyl strip caulk from 3M, but it isn't in any form that is in a tube. It is extremely sticky stuff. I didn't know it came in a tube. Maybe the stuff you find in a tube is less sticky. Seems like that is almost like roofing tar and tough to squirt down in the pin hole, but I'll check with the auto glass shop. You need some Auto Glass sealant..

The whole industry ( auto glass) has changed. But back in the day the butyl sealant we used for GASKET set windshields does not harden.. This allows it to move slightly as the car is driven, not breaking the seal...

I have used the flow-able windshield sealer from the auto parts store with success before. I used it to seal a leaking plastic headlight also and it still hasn`t leaked for years.
