Pro Comp and Speedmaster are the same company. I don't suggest buying anything from them.

Pro Comp and Speedmaster are the same company. I don't suggest buying anything from them. And they are "budget" heads that won't stay "budget" heads by the time you've paid to have them prepped and ported to be made uasable. OOB they're definitely not "ready to run".

Thanks!
The Procomp/Speedmaster heads are the bottom the barrel as fasr as quality--the castings are brittle poor grade aluminum--the guides Look like bronze but are very soft and wear out in very short order --I mean wear out sloppy! The seat fit in the head is also poor with seats falling out every now and then. Look at the castings --they are "frosty" looking I sell lots of heads so that means Chevy and Ford as well--those guys have much more experience with them than us Mopar guys and they won't touch them if at all possible. The Sidewinders have turned out to be the best head for the $$ IMO--No head is perfect for all builds but for the majority of street builds and mild race builds they are the equal to the Edelbrock at a MUCH lower price--I have built, ported, flowed, and dynoed enough Mopars now with the new Sidewinders that I am totally happy with every set I have had--they are very consistent in overall quality / casting/ and machining Another thing about the other lower priced heads is poor quality hardware--like retainers, valves and for sure crappy quality locks--Most Sidewinder sellers build heads to order and all I have seen are using Manley, Comp, and the like for parts. Me likey Sidewinders--Procomp / Speedmaster is why China gets a bad name for parts IMO

Hey guys.....Anyone use the ProComp BB alum. heads??? Pros and cons please. Seen photos of them completely broken across the bottom head bolts ft. to rear and was even talkin to Jason Pettis Friday about these and he has nothing nice to say about em. The quality of the materials and core shift make em junk and many agree so I`d go E-Brocks if you could swing it OR the new AFR`s seem sweet................

I've seen their SBC heads bust around the lower bolt heads. No way I'd take a chance on these heads. Save your pennies and dimes and buy a used set of Edelbrocks. I agree, save more money and buy better quality heads. Spending money on heads that end up becoming scrap aluminum is not economical in the long run.
