Finally getting around to checking pushrod length and rocker geometry on my 360-1 Indy heads and was wondering how Indy's blue rockers hold up and what there limits are. According to Indy's website their 440-1 big block heads and 360-1 small block heads use the same rockers. i was hoping if this was true I could switch out the rocker and use my 1.6 ratio rockers off my 440-1 heads. As luck has it my rockers are the 5/8 inch shaft so this can't be done. Probably could use my spare set of Harlan Sharps but they are 1.5 ratio too. The cam I am going with for now is only a 630 lift intake 650 lift exhaust so its now a real big cam. So are these made by Dove or another company and how did they work for you.

Pittsburghracer mine were ok with the k-motion (H11 ? I think) springs that came on my heads and a street roller. They lasted about 15 minutes when I stepped up to a better spring and mid sized Roller.
The 1.6 ratio helps get the push rod out of the valve cover gasket a little, but I would not run those with more than a solid flat tappet ever again.

Its a small 630 intake, 650 exhaust solid lift cam I got in a package deal so its not very big. Its a 59 degree R3 block so if all goes well I may remove it over the Winter and grind the block so i can run a roller cam. At that time I will upgrade the rockers for sure.

flat tappet that size you may be ok. roller will do them in pretty quick. I went ahead and ordered 2 Harland Sharp small block shafts off Amazon and they will be here Wednesday. Thinking I may go ahead and trial fit the Harland Sharps while its on the engine stand and if all looks good go ahead and update now. Better safe than sorry and the Indy rockers will be easier to sell if they are brand new.

Update. You can not use the Harland sharp 440-1 rockers on 360-1 indy heads. The intake rockers are way to wide. Indy uses the same rockers on both so they must make up the difference thru shimming. May make a few calls next week after I get this up and running as Harland sharp is very reasonable for custom stuff

Pittsburgh...
You manage some awsome et's !!! what's the compression ratio of your engine ?, I'm at 10.8:1
surely I can do better than 6.40's with my 3100lbs fish, but now scratching my head..........
Dan Thankyou very much. I'm probably close to were your are, maybe slightly lower as this engine has the open chamber 340 Edelbrock heads plus i do a fair amount of chamber work.
