VERY nice. How fast did you end up going with the old set-up and can you tell us about your build.

Good-luck on the new build. What RPM were you shifting and trapping at on a 1/4 mile pass?

I was shifting at 9100 and trapping 9300. I had mufflers and air cleaner on, it was keeping it from revving to its full potential.
On ice with no air cleaner and open headers it would rev to 9800 without issue. That's what I was thinking. I was offered a pretty good deal but passed because of budget limits. RPM costs money and with my race schedule it would make those un-affordable.

What cam is in that motor? Seems like a lot of rpm. Friend ran one, 3000 pound car, also went 143 mph. Shifted it at 8k, and didn't run any better raising shift points. Bush restrictor plate motor, 12 to 1, 248/258 cam

I'm going to experiment with shift points once I get it to the track this year. Last year I was just doing what I did on the ice and got those results. I think i hooked better on the ice too lol

Despite how they look in the pics, there aren't any sharp edges they are all machined with a radius. Ready to drop in

That's a LOT of compression. I have to ask, who advised you that raising the compression over 3 points is really what this motor needed for YOUR application. I expect that if you are looking for 80hp or more with just a compression change, you are likely to be disappointed. Plus, using a motor with a Comp Eliminator power curve, in a fairly heavy, small tired, car with an auto................mmm, don't know.

Lot bigger cam..... Probably does like that rpm... Lol Sweet looking slugs, how expensive is the ring pack?

The engineers at diamond designed the piston to what they thought would be the max compression to be effective. It may not be 3 full points. Kent Ritter picked out the cam for me. He thought it would be good with the heads and intake I have. Well if it doesn't make much more power I'll have to get a different grind to help that I guess. It's ran in the 9s already and it was tired then and you seen the video of how bad the suspension was setup.

Good luck. Bob ran 5.82 shifting around 8000 with a 904. Broke it due to an incorrect rocker length. He ordered JE billet dome pistons hoping for more hp.
I assembled and ran a glide. It liked shifting at 9200. But, ran the same et and mph. I talked with several builders of R5 engines. They all found domes to slow the engines down.
Hopefully you will have better luck.
