What is your opinion on how to mount a fiberglass trunk lid on a 1968 Dodge Dart Super Stock (Clone)?

I have been debating on designing a similar setup like the 1955 Chevy in Two Lane Blacktop. Two up top in the front, and one in the lower center where the latch is located. I want to keep the outer appearance of the car traditional, as if it was built in the early to mid 1970's.

My only concern is that the hood pin plates might look to gaudy. I have never seen this before, but on the other hand it might look neat. I debated zeus fasteners, but that does not match the factory hood pins, plates, and lanyards.

I am going to route a new fuel pipe from the quarter panel to the fuel cell, and I will mount battery posts and a battery kill switch in the rear bumper. Therefore I will not be entering the trunk that much.

What is your opinion and do you have any pictures that you could share?

Thanks Moparts!

I don't see a problem with Dzus fasteners on the decklid and traditional pins on the hood. You can even paint the buttons and bezels body color but I would just leave them natural twocents

Google AEROCATCH hood latches. I have them on my 70 Cuda hood and trunk. A little more money, but you don't have to worry about the pin clip scratching your paint.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
