I swapped a 518 in place of my 435. It was in a 1985 Crew cab 4x4. Had to modify the tranny mount, shorten rear driveshaft and lengthen front drive shaft. I used a cable operated shifter on mine. no clearance issues at all. other than modifying a factory transmission mount from a 97 model truck, it was all bolt in
